Detailed description

Highland National Golf course, previously named Highland Park Eighteen Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The course first opened for play in 1929. Highland National Golf Course is a renovated, upscale municipal golf course, which reopened in spring of 2005, after two years of construction. The total redesign was the work of Garrett Gill and Paul Miller.

Highland's signature hole, #15, features a large "Snoopy" shaped bunker constructed with the permission of Mrs. Jean Schulz in honor of her late husband, Charles Schulz, who learned to play golf at Highland Park Golf Course.

Highland National may look and feel like a flat golf course, but it's not. There is, as there was before the redesign, a 100' drop from the base of the Highland Park water tower to Hamlin Avenue - a half a mile away.
Playing golf at Highland National is like playing golf on the seashore, every putt breaks toward the water, in this case, the Mississippi. The grain of the green causes all putts to move toward the water. One more tip, hit one club lower than you think you need on #2, #13 and #14, even though it may be hard to see, the greens are uphill from the tee box.

Black tees: par-72, 6,378 yards
White tees: par-72, 6,204 yards
Gold tees: par-72, 5,843 yards
Red tees: par-72,  5,125 yards
